Common questions

How many days do you need for an Italy trip?

A week is a comfortable minimum for combining Rome, Florence and Venice on the high-speed train. Ten to twelve days lets you add the Amalfi Coast or slow down in Tuscany without rushing. We have ready-made itineraries for every trip length.

How do you get around Italy on an itinerary?

Between the big cities the high-speed trains (Frecciarossa and Italo) are fast and easy, so you rarely need a car. For Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Puglia and Sicily a rental car opens up the villages and coast roads. In each itinerary we note the recommended option.

Should I add the Amalfi Coast or the lakes to my itinerary?

Yes if you have at least ten days. The Amalfi Coast pairs beautifully with Naples and Pompeii, while the northern lakes (Como, Garda) work well with Milan and the Dolomites. It is worth giving each region at least two nights rather than a rushed day trip.

What does each ready-made itinerary include?

Every itinerary is built day by day with recommended places, sensible travel between them, cities to base yourself in, and on-the-ground tips, so you can set off with no extra planning.
